Day 93

The dishes are done from dinner, the kitchen has been wiped down and the lights have been turned off saying the kitchen is closed for the evening, all in time for the sun to just set with enough light to see the tree line and the fog. Its a brisk 55° out, the fireplace is roaring away, while Jake stands in his underwear and warms his "work keys" that his Auntie Kali got him. I'm sipping on some freshly steeped Earl Grey tea leaves and Austin is settled on the couch with Kaleb nestled on his chest.

We are all tucked away in our home.

Its nights like these that I look around our home, at what we've created, from our children down to the silverware in the drawer and wonder how I got so lucky to be where I am today, to be where we are today. I look around me and cant believe how blessed we've been. Even in the difficult times, its the blessings I notice. At the end of everyday day, we have us and that's all I need.

Day 90

Collage Day

Playtime with Jake.

So proud of my boy. Normally I only let him use my little Canon Powershot to take photos, but this time I let him use my "big camera" as he calls it. He did these two ALL on his own. Love him.
Multiple car pile ups, soccer balls & walkie talkies fill our home. Love. It.

perpetual consideration

As sat in the mist for the second day in a row for Jake's soccer camp, huddled under an umbrella (to protect my camera) & my hoodie (to protect my hair. Laugh, but mist floats around & my hair & wetness do not mix well), I realized that Hawaii can not come soon enough. Warmth, the sun, powerdy sandy beaches with sun kissed bodies laying on them, our sun kissed bodies. I just cant wait. Normally I don't care for heat, but some warmth would be lovingly accepted.

No hotter than 80°, no cooler than 70° and I am in bliss.

Its 65°, but there's a chill to the air. I have the fireplace going, but I still cant get warm. I have on yoga pants, a sweatshirt & socks, but my toes & fingertips are still frozen to the touch, just ask Jake. And this is summer on the central coast. The Sunny....Sunny?.....The sort of Sunny Central Coast of California.

But no matter. The cold is an excuse to slow down, to curl up with loved ones, tangled up in bed, giggling, laughing & being thankful we have each other. Its a break from the hustle & bustle of cramming events in before summer is over, making sure to take advantage of what the dog days have to offer.

Day 87

Soccer Camp Day Two

They were playing a chasing game, teaching them to maneuver/stay away from someone. They gave them little orange "capes" to fly around like super heroes. This little girl, I think, was sick of being chased, so she stopped, turned around & screamed at the coach. Haha! Jake of course is biting his nails while running. A bad habit I gave him.

So much going on here. Jake ended up forgetting what he was suppose to be doing & started chasing his coach around. The coach was after this little girl, not to chase her, but to give her, her cape back. And the little girl who was sick of being chased, who screamed at the coach, got down on the ground & started crawling away, hoping she wasn't going to be seen. The kids were screaming & laughing, it was too cute. They had a good time!
Running for his life.

Making sure his cape was still on.

My little super hero.

perpetual consideration

I've decided that besides posting on here of just my daily pictures; life, lover, misters, mishaps, happy times, sad times and just plan, uhhhh?, I might say a word or two. Not daily, unless the mood strikes me and not just "Deep Thoughts with Jack Handy" or cheesy "I love my family", which I very well do, but about our goings on in general and at complete randomness

Now I cant promise they will be short, sweet or even definitely to the point, since you all well know that I am a chatterbox in person, of random and sometimes (most times) useless information. I quickly go from one yet-unconceived topic to another, not quite finishing the original thought. Yes, I am well aware of my flaws. There are many.

I've never kept a blog on this sort of thing - I attempted years ago & only posted once. I'm also not completely sure I want to dedicate a whole web address to JUST this, so as long as you don't mind reading them (if so then skip to the daily photo) and as long as my brain is overflowing with useless topics (always), then I might just post a quick (possibly) few lines of my life, lover, misters, mishaps, happy times, sad times and just plan, uhhh?

Be forewarned: My brain works in mysterious ways, often on its own accord.

Day 76-79

Day 76

We bought this toy for him a few years ago, not knowing that one day we would own one. Too bad mine doesn't have such an awesome paint job.

Day 77

Makes my mouth water......

Day 78

A night with friends.
Ally girl has a new best friend.

Nerf wars with all the boys! The dads, Austin & Brandon ,who is ducking behind the counter, haha, then the boys, Jake, Ev & Justin, who is in the corner, peaking around the fireplace wall. Hehe. I even found darts in the garbage disposal. SWEET!

The Cow & Some Artichokes

Now these are real artichokes! My favorite veggie. YUM!

Day 74

The Greenhouse Cafe; Modern Nordic Bistro

We had a nice little romantic lunch for four, outside in the shade. Its an all window building, hence the name "Greenhouse Cafe", with twinkling lights strung on the ceiling & exaggerated, solid black, cut-out looking, trendy chandeliers. My Lobster Wrap & Cold German Potato Salad (which I don't like potato salad normally unless its my Grandmas. But this was ahhhmazing). The Lobster Wrap was very light & VERY tasty with huge chunks of lobster and NO filler, NO mayo and NO dressing of any sorts, the way I like it;  able to taste my seafood. And the thing was HUGE! Austin had the Danish Sausage Sandwich with Red Cabbage (both really yummy as well) & Jake had the Kids Hot Dog. Not just any hot dog mind you.....a real, homemade hot dog that has a big snap to it when you bite into it, on a freshly baked, homemade, grilled bun. Afterward we strolled down the road to Sweet Dreams Ice Cream Parlor & between the three of us we had Pistachio, Brazilian Coffee & Tangerine Sorbet. Guess who got what? All in all a fabulous day. Thankful for everything. (click to enlarge)

Day 72-73

Day 72

Kaleb's swing. : )

Day 73

Fourth of July
We took a nice little bike ride/walk with the dogs, after we stuffed our faces with burgers, fries & fried zucchini. I'm going to miss this house. (even the quarter of the house that's missing from the photo, haha!) Bittersweet, this move. (click to enlarge)

VAFB Picnic

Day 68-70

It had been a busy past few days. Still will post one for today, later. We have lots of things to do today, so hopefully the day will give me some great photo options. Wish me luck.

Day 68

Best Dog Ever

Best friends. : D
Day 69
The touch screen is pretty darn awesome. Never thought I would care to have a touch screen in my dash, but its pretty handy. It has silly thing on it like a full on calender & even though we have the "insync" for your phone (bluetooth), where you press the button on the steering wheel & it asks you what you want & you say "call Austin"....or the pope, whomever you care to call, there is a full dial touch pad to enter in phone numbers too. GPS of course, the radio, SIRIUS satellite,  CD & DVD are control by that as well & a 100 other things. BUT my favorite thing is this. All I have to do is touch the "74" & it pulls the screen up so I can adjust my own temp & fan speed. NO MORE BEING FROZEN ON ROAD TRIPS! Austin can have his own temp & I can have mine & the second & third rows can have theirs too. The Flex does have some pretty awesome features in general. More to come with photos of it. EEEEEP!

Day 70

Base explorations

They were all alone in a sea of brown & green shrubs. The summer sure does make us brown around here. And by summer I mean, 70's.
